Our Adventures Continue...

We signed up for a Habitat for Humanity Build in Mankato Minnesota because we have very special friends there and thought we could get to see them. We were strangers to Mankato but no longer. Thank you Tony & Kathy F, had a wonderful time in your fair city and want to come back. Tony F and Tony C were classmates in high school and college so it was great to spend time together. Tony F even came to help us build on our Habitat site. We had such a great time and there are so many bike paths that Tony C was biking every day getting ready for his 'Fuller Center Bike Adventure' this summer of 3,300 miles in 56 days from San Diego to Savannah. Tony & I decided we hadn't see the Utah Parks so after Las Vegas we left beautiful Lake Mead and travelled to Utah. We have spent two to three days in each park and loved them all. After we visit Arches we will head to our Habitat Build in Mankato, Minnesota May 4th for two weeks, then to Chicago to visit our son Mike and maybe give my Computer Hard Drive some tender loving care. Mighty Zion National Park Then there is Bryce, again, beautiful and different I want you to know that we hiked Bryce Canyon 600 feet down into the canyon and back up the switch backs covered in ice, 3 miles in 3 hours what an adventure. Happy Birthday husband of 36 years! I'm hoping you have a great day! I am also wishing you luck on your cross country bike ride this summer. I don't know many people at 61 that would bike across the country with 20 year olds. But I do know a person who would combine that with raising funds for a very special organization, 'The Fuller Center for Housing' to make affordable housing for millions of Americans and those around the world in need. Thanks for sharing your life with me these many years and here is hoping you have many, many more years to share.

You are the best hosts. We will miss the wine, we will miss the breaking of the bread we will miss wally jumping on our laps we will miss the beauty and warmth of your house and flowers but especially we will miss being with your friendship. Thank you, until we are together again.

Well, I guess you are wondering why there are no updates! We are here gambling, carousing and generally having a great time. We even sang in Phil Esser's choir at St. Andrews last weekend. So I have been so busy I haven't have time to work on my blog. We are camped at Boulder Beach RV Campground on Lake Mead. This camp is the first one right after you go over the Boulder Dam (Hoover if you must). I have added a great visit with good friend Peggy Esser to Jim and Sally Nelson's house. This is a remarkable women with a remarkable talent so take a look at 4-11. In the meantime we have been hiking and biking, I will fill you in on that soon. Hugs to you all.

On the day that he bought his new Specialized Road Bicycle for his cross country foray from San Diego to Savannah, he was so excited, he even changed his first flat tire before we even got our Sonic burgers.

This is a beautiful spot. Right off I-60 just a few miles from Mesa and Landis Bike Shop. Not too far from Apache Junction and beautiful Superstition Mountain. Great Hiking. We are signed up for another week till the end of the month. Then we head to Las Vegas and the Utah National Parks.

Tony, Al and I did a 4 mile hike in this beautiful country. We have lots of pictures and it was a great hike. The wild flowers are spectacular.

I know, we told you all that we were going to do Alaska this year. We were, but then Mike's house has not sold and diesel gas prices are skyrocketing to $4 a gallon. This all makes for a very expensive trip. I don't think gas will get cheaper any time soon but maybe. Anyway Tony found a great ride. He has always wanted to bike across the US and this planned fund raiser just fell in his lap. Fuller Center for Housing is having their first annual bike across the US fund raiser and they are biking from San Diego to Savannah. What an adventure for Tony. Finally he has a dream come true. So needless to say he is out shopping for a road bike and well he should. He never spends money on himself so I am happy for him. Me, what am I going to do while Tony is biking across America, well I haven't decided yet. I might volunteer at the Care-A-Vanner desk in Americus for a month, or I might just go back to Michigan with side trips to Chicago and maybe Cleveland and just kick back and ...

The sun is shining, the weather is warm and the desert is blooming around our favoite place, Quartzsite Arizona.

This is a most beautiful Park with spectacular views. The desert is beginning to bloom, I'm so glad we are here at this time.

We went to the Mall in Irvine from Aliso Veijo and had a Mexican meal that was fit for a king and queen. Course we had to wait 30 minutes for our table so Tony, Amy and Andrea decided to take a ride on the Merry-go-round. What fun. Of course I had to take pictures.
