Tony in his Glory! From Grant NM to Albuquerque!

The Howlett's are at Signpost Village Yukon!

They found our Sign and here is Diane pointing to it. Thanks Tom & Diane it is the next best thing to being there. The Picture needs a little work.

Day 11 Quemado, NM to Grants, NM

Tomorrow the altitude will go from 7300 feet to 6300 feet, somewhere there will be a neat downhill folks, happy trails. I can see you are in a blank zone for phone service so we will just wait for the blog info. View Larger Map Excerpted from the Fuller Center Blog by Aaron, one of the Riders. Quemado to Grants Day #11 Today's route unrolled the best scenery of the Southwest. Our 86 mile ride took us through Malpais (bad country) National monument where breathtaking views of lava rock and wide open space awaited around every turn. With each of us still feeling a little sore, we rode together as a group at a moderate pace soaking in the vistas. Some highlights for the day included a fly-over by two F-16s and numerous beautiful photo opportunities at the magnificent "The Narrows" cliffs. Enjoying our riding time together as a group, this is by far the best day of riding. Since the experience is all somewhat a blur in my mind, I will try and post some additional photos to

Thank you for the Flowers

I love you whether we are near or far. I miss you, see you in Georgia.

Day 9 - Payson to Show Low, Arizona

I think this will promise to be another hard day in the mountains by the looks of the terrain. We will see when we hear from the riders this evening. Switch to Satellite if you want to see the rugged terrain. 82 miles today! View Larger Map Hey riders, let us know how your day went!

Day 7 - Scottsdale, AZ

A google earth look at tomorrows ride from Scottsdale to Payson, AZ. I am sure the riders are resting up today for the trek into the Mountains, specifically Mt. Ord, in checking the altitude map the highest I got was around 6,000 feet. I may be wrong and it may be higher or lower, I'm sure the bikers will let me know tomorow night. This map gives more idea of what the bikers are up against, check it out . Just in case you want to know, I am having a great time here in beautiful downtown, Berville, just hanging out, eating a whole Egg Custard Pie (homemade) and keeping the blog with Tony's travels up do date. Couldn't ask for a better life.

Day 6 - Surprise, AZ

Another hot day and fairly short. I guess the day off was cancelled so the bikers will be going on to Scottsdale which will cut 30 miles off of their next days trip into the mountains. And the adventure continues... Bet these wonderful bikers could sure use a swim in the Pacific right now. There are alot of us wishing you folks all the luck in the world for this great journey across the US for the purpose of awareness of the great works of the Fuller Center for Housing, building affordable housing for everyone, one house at a time. Thanks Riders

Day 5 - Salome, AZ

Tony arrived in Salome Arizona around 11:00am, short day again only 50 miles. Those of us that bike occasionally say 50 MILES wow. Tomorrow will be longer and we hope not hotter. We also hope the team gets more SLEEP. Stay tuned or check out the other blogs listed on the left.

Day 4 - Parker, AZ

One down, ten to go! At exactly 6am Thursday we crossed the Colorado River from Blythe, California to Ehrenberg, Arizona. We all rode today, except Doug, who took another turn driving the van. The first riders arrived in Parker, AZ by 9:30 am! (It was, after all, a relatively short day – only 50 miles – and we all finished before the temperature hit 110.) The second wave of riders stuck together, singing songs and enjoying the scenery, getting to Parker around 10:30. The only downside was that we left not knowing exactly where in Parker we would be spending the night. By the time we reached the first 20-mile rest stop we learned that Ryan had performed (or, perhaps more appropriately, been the recipient of) a “miracle.” Pastor Jose Garcia of the Parker Apostolic Church was waiting for us with open arms and much more – showers at Brother Rafael and Sister Patti’s home, a tour of Parker Dam which included lunch and photo ops of wild burros, and dinner back at Rafael and Patti’s house. Be

Day 3 - These Great Bikers, Blythe CA

These folks are having so much fun in spite of the heat. Go team Please check out the blog of the fullercenterbiketrip.blogspot.com . They are doing so well. I do think they need more sleep though. There's my honey zonked out in the van. I think the heat is getting to them all. There will be bragging rights galore when they get home.

Day 1 - Fuller Center Bike Ride to Julian, CA

Well, Tony got on his flight to San Diego at 8:15 Saturday morning. Everything went without a hitch. I saw him off at the airport and Mike met him in Chicago with a layover and gave him his Father's Day Card. I then went back to my friends Don and El's for a barbecue in their back yard in the city. Dan & Dave did the cooking and the chicken was outstanding. "What did you put on that chicken that made it taste so good, Dave"? I then left for home and the solitude I know I would feel with out my main man there. Feels great to be home again. I am just kicking back and praying, ALOT! Got a call from Tony in the evening after the team had arrived at their destination. They were lucky enough to secure a 'boy scout like' place to stay for the night with showers and beds and a kitchen. Tony is on cooking detail and since he can't cook he washes dishes. You go guy! The ride had it's complications but all arrived at the end of the day feeling one down many

Millard & Linda Fuller our own National Treasures!

Take a look at the life of the Fullers to see just how much of a National Treasure they are. While you are at it, think of giving some of your Time, Talent and Treasure to the Fuller Center for housing www.fullercenter.org and see what you get back one hundred fold. If you are retired they could use your help in building homes and lives for those less fortunate. Take a look at this video.

The Hen is in the Henhouse!

It is so great, Mike finally got his iMAC computer. Wow have you seen what they can do? They do everything but cook, I want one. I am going to visit Mike in July and check it out, but by the looks of the Tutorial on Apples web site, I am jealous.

We're Home!

We are home to get out of the southern heat and guess what, it is 90 degrees today in beautiful downtown Berville/Allenton. I am sure it is over 100 degrees in beautiful downtown Quartzsite so I am glad we are home. Tony's great brother & sister-in-law Mel and Jackie have once again allowed us to park on their beautiful 5 acres in St. Clair County about 40 miles north of the City (Detroit). This is the most beautiful place on earth in the summer. Everything is green and lush and Mel & Jackie have such a beautiful piece of property. They work like heck to preserve it like this but it is beautiful. I have a place to do my walking, today I almost did myself in by not being hydrated enough before and during my 3 mile walk, got light headed. As you know Tony will leave on June 14th for San Diego and the start of his epic adventure of biking across the USA for the Fuller Center for Housing. This bike ride will spread the awareness of the Fuller Center and what it is doing to erad
