Day 1 - Fuller Center Bike Ride to Julian, CA

Well, Tony got on his flight to San Diego at 8:15 Saturday morning. Everything went without a hitch. I saw him off at the airport and Mike met him in Chicago with a layover and gave him his Father's Day Card.

I then went back to my friends Don and El's for a barbecue in their back yard in the city. Dan & Dave did the cooking and the chicken was outstanding. "What did you put on that chicken that made it taste so good, Dave"? I then left for home and the solitude I know I would feel with out my main man there. Feels great to be home again. I am just kicking back and praying, ALOT! Got a call from Tony in the evening after the team had arrived at their destination. They were lucky enough to secure a 'boy scout like' place to stay for the night with showers and beds and a kitchen. Tony is on cooking detail and since he can't cook he washes dishes. You go guy!

The ride had it's complications but all arrived at the end of the day feeling one down many more to come. Below is the Day One of the Fuller Center Blog.

We started the day in high spirits with an awesome kickoff. It began with the official start of a Fuller Center for Housing in the San Diego area, with President Rich Geisler and many of the board members there to show us off. Then, the author of The House That Love Built by Betty Youngs, talked about her book and wished us all luck, and finally Pastor Emma from the La Jolla United Methodist Church gave us her blessing and we dipped our back tires in the ocean beginning an "easy" fifty-five mile first day.
Unfortunately, it was all up hill and by the end we found ourselves at a 4,000 foot elevation hot tired and sweaty. Some, did not make it the whole way, but we are all okay just a little dehydrated. Other then that besides getting lost a few times we all "kicked back" and headed up those hills at five miles per hour enjoying some nice scenery...and, if everyone else was like me worrying that there were quite a few danger boulders falling signs along the way. All in all over half the team finished and were now showered, fed, and ready for bed. (Written by one of the riders)

London Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona

What a neat place. Just so you know,  London Bridge  is a bridge in  Lake Havasu City ,  Arizona ,  United States , that is the relocated 1831  London Bridge  that spanned the  River Thames  in  London ,  England  until it was dismantled in 1967. The Arizona bridge is a  reinforced concrete  structure clad in the original masonry of the 1830s bridge, which was bought by  Robert P. McCulloch  from the  City of London . McCulloch had exterior granite blocks from the original bridge numbered and transported to America to construct the present bridge in Lake Havasu City, a planned community he established in 1964 on the shore of  Lake Havasu . The bridge was completed in 1971 (along with a canal), and links an island in the lake with the main part of Lake Havasu City. This bush is breathtaking also there were a lot of Restaurants and Brewery's around too bad its ...
