Our Adventures Continue...

Goodbye cold.

Any day now we will be leaving the cornfields.  Heading down the road southwest.

Well, well, well, look who's 60th birthday just came along. We went to the Apple Orchard on Van Dyke in Romeo and it was wonderful. Mike & Sophia came in for the party and Melissa was there.  Mark & Nancy and their family, along with Marie and Joe and their family with Mel & Jackie and Tony & me. Norbert got his hair cut and was really happy when he saw we were in the back room and it was only family.  George & Sally missed a really good party.

        Went to Stillwater Grille for a great dinner, then on to the Boardwalk into town for an Ice Cream at Yum Yums. All together a great evening with my favorite guys. Mike always drives a great set of wheels and always takes his bike with him. Thanks Mike for being you.

We celebrated Carl back in town for a little while... The Codens were great to let us sit at their table Harvey & Judy were there but left before pictures... Thom Armstead, Mike Chateau, Frank Rashid, Jerry Lemenu, Jan Loviska, the Campbells A good time was had by all.

Hart Plaza Riverboat Queen Freedom Statues Detroit 300 Commission of which Eleanor Josaitis was on... We spotted many weddings being celebrated and pictures taken We never leave detroit without a check out of the Heidelberg Project. What fun...

Found Ferdinand and Theresia Nagel Brinkman Clara Brinkman Campbell (grandmother) James Campbell It was a bit of an adventure but with Aunt Rosies help we found quite a few family members. We also overstayed our welcome and got locked in, but before we panicked we drove around for a while until we spotted a couple of folks in the maintenance yard and they let us out. Always an adventure when traveling with Tony...

...I'm biking the Trail 14 miles I just keep getting more miles in every week and feel good.  There are not enough hours in the day to get everything done and then of course something goes wrong, like the gas tank on my Jimmy has a hole in it and as I'm pumping gas into the truck while the engine is running, because i was having trouble starting it, and all of a sudden the attendant (I made her day) came running out and asked that i stop pumping gas because it was pouring out of the tank onto the ground.  Boy was i embarrassed, i stopped pumping and got in my car and took off.  So not very much gas in the tank but i made it home without blowing up, thanks to the Dear Lord.  Life is an adventure...

PALOS, finally I get to bike on the trail son Mike has been  biking since he came to Chicago. ...well with a little help anyway.   For me the hills were hard but Mike really helped. On Sunday when we tried to leave the Indy Fairgrounds we found the gates locked ... and we were towing, so you see that little turn-around up there by the gate, well Miss Mary with her  driving skill turned right this side of the post and then just missed the two columns on either side of the gate and turned around in that space with the Safari attached, da, da! Very Interesting that Indiana has this field of wind turbines.

Have had a great time here in Indy.  There is a great bike path called the Monon and it is quite long, I think Tony & I will do that this weekend. There is also a great path Fall Creek Greenway for 8 miles and that is a great 16 mile trip for good exercise for me. Tony my biking kind of guy. ...and me plodding along at 7.5 mph ...her baby was still in the bushes...

Had a great time.   Drove 3 hours from Indiana to get there  and 3 hours back but it was sooooo worth it. I am gaining a daughter so to speak Sophia Panos How our lives move on. 9/7/13

What a great weekend with friends before we head to Chicago. Our little biking trip about wore me out but if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger right?

On our way, can't wait to see him and Sophia.

The lady at the gate.  What a site that is up close. A little trivia.  The builders had to use her shoe to enter and build her from the inside. We also visited Ground Zero Memorial, it was moving.

Great walk on the Parkway while Tony was biking. 

Suzanne and Jim, we love em.  Had a great lunch at Cracker Barrel in Johnson City.  Got caught up, made plans for 2013 and then off we go to Frees, TN where there is a rail trail for us to bike.  Stay tuned...
